Haruna,

A Population Census for Tanzania was conducted in 1967, 1978, 1988, 2002 
and 2012.
Any figures for your required dates of 1982 and 1992 will be intercensal 
estimates based on population growth prediction.

The NBS website has some national level data (age; sex) for 1967, 1978 
and 1988 on the file

You might find this article of interest from 2011 from the NBS Manager 
of Social and Demographic Statistics.  It indicates that any detailed 
figures before 1990 are only available in printed format not digital:
