Gift Network invites applications for a new class of social 
entrepreneurs, ages 21-35, to join its network.  The selected leaders 
will be supported for projects in the USA and worldwide in sustainable 
agriculture, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, and other 
topics.  Grants are up to US$10 thousand for projects of one year.  
Applicants must be able to participate in a three-week wilderness 
orientation and training session in Idaho, USA. The application deadline is 15 April 2013. Link

>Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) -- Capacity Building of Farmer Organizations in East Africa for Improved Financial Management  
>In cooperation with the Farmer Organization Support 
Center of Africa, AGRA invites concept notes to build the capacity of 
farmers' organizations in selected regions of Kenya and Tanzania in 
subjects of financial management.  Funding will range from US$150 
thousand to US$250 thousand. The deadline for concept notes is 15 April

>Swedish Research Links Program -- Call for Proposals 2013  
>The Swedish Research Links Program funds research cooperation between 
scientists in Sweden and scientists in selected low and middle-income 
countries of Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Europe. The program is open to scientists in basic 
and applied research within all academic areas. Past grants have funded 
research to address water pollution; control of agricultural diseases 
and post-harvest losses; livestock introductions; management of 
protected areas; and various other topics related to agriculture and 
natural resources. The closing date for applications is 24 April 2013. Link

>Brazilian Government -- Science Without Borders "Young Talent Program" 2013  
>Science Without Borders is a joint effort of Brazil's Ministry of 
Education (MEC) and Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT). The 
program aims to qualify 100 thousand Brazilian students and researchers 
in top universities worldwide. The program also makes grants to attract 
talented young researchers from outside the country to work in Brazil. 
Grants in the "Young Talent" program are for one to three years in the 
priority areas of Science Without Borders -- including sustainable 
agriculture, renewable energy, disaster prevention, biodiversity and 
bio-prospection, marine sciences, and others. The application deadlines 
are 20 May 2013, 19 August 2013, and 01 November 2013.  Link

>Crawford Fund -- Derek Tribe Award 2013  
>The Derek Tribe Award is made biennially to a citizen of a developing country to recognize 
distinguished applied research in agriculture or natural resource 
management.  Nominations are invited from Australian researchers and 
researchers from international agricultural research centers. The 
recipient of the award will visit agricultural centers in Australia with the intention of enhancing networking and linkages between researchers 
in her/his home country and Australia.  The deadline for nominations is

>Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) -- Research Exchanges, Canada with Latin America and Caribbean 2013  
>In collaboration with Canada's IDRC, the AUCC manages the Canada-Latin 
America and Caribbean Research Exchange Grants (LACREG) to strengthen 
partnerships and networks among academic researchers from Canada and 
Latin America and the Caribbean. Projects address one or more of IDRC’s 
program areas: agriculture and the environment; global health policy; 
science and innovation; and social and economic policy.  The maximum 
grant is CDN$15 thousand.  The deadline for applications (English, 
French, Spanish, Portuguese) is 20 June 2013.  Link

>German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) -- Alumni Program 2014-2015  
>The German federal government will support networking opportunities 
for international alumni who have studied or done research with 
institutions of higher education in Germany.  The program extends to 
alumni in developed and developing countries.  Subjects of interest in 
the North-South Dialogue include climate and environment, agricultural 
research and allocation of food, etc., among others.  Eligibility 
extends to institutions of German higher education, registered alumni 
associations in cooperation with German institutions, and local and 
regional alumni networks in cooperation with German institutions.  The

>Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew -- Bentham-Moxon Trust  
>Through the Bentham-Moxon Trust, Kew Gardens (UK) makes 30 to 40 small grants per year to botanists and horticulturalists for plant collection and field research; international visits or work at Kew; travel and 
conferences; and other project support.  Preference is for grants that involve a 
developing country.  The closing date for applications is 30 September each year. Link
