Dear friends and colleagues,
    as a member of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) I am happy to tell you that the FOSS4G conference in 2018 will be in DAR. Read more about the bid process here:

The decision was taken earlier this week:

Although this is one year and nine months away there is a lot to be done before the conference. Some of this will involve getting ideas from the Tanzania GIS community.

The co-chairs for the conference will be Msilikale Msilenga and Mark Illiffe. The LOC will provide more information early next year.
