This is Yulli Jeremia, open data activist and volunteer. I believe that
most of group members here can be interested in our Open Data Day event
to be held on Saturday, February 21st from 10.00am to 1.00pm at Buni Hub
(COSTECH Building-Sayansi). Kindly lets get together and be part of the
golbal Open Data Day 2015.

Open Data Day is a gathering of citizens in cities around the world to
write applications, liberate data, create visualizations and publish
analyses using open public data to show support for and encourage the
adoption of open data policies by the world's local, regional and
national governments.

Last year on 22nd February, 2014 the Dar es Salaam Open Knowledge
Community (DOCKO) successfully joined this global movement by organizing
the first ODD 2014 in Dar es Salaam where various open data enthusiasts
presented their data driven projects and enjoyed the fun. You can access
last year’s event summary at
http://okfncommunity.tumblr.com/post/79247204161/dar-es-salaam-open-knowledge-community-events.
This year, once again DOKCO with support from Open Knowledge Foundation
International, and Buni Hub is proud to invite you to the Second Open
Data Day (ODD) 2015 to be held at the Buni Hub (COSTECH Building –
Kijitonyama).
Building on last year’s experience we expect this year’s event to be
even more exciting. Come and join us on Saturday, February 21st from
10.00am to 1.00pm at Buni Hub (COSTECH Building-Sayansi). The tentative
programme of activities will include:
1. Story telling – this session will give opportunity for various
individuals and organizations working with open data projects to share
their experiences (We expect stories from our partners –TWAWEZA
engagement with open government data, SIKIKA’s engagement with open
budget at local government level, Policy Forum on citizen open budget,
and World Bank’s Tanzania Open Data Initiative.

2. Dar es Salaam Open Knowledge Community building session – the
session will introduce to participants on the opportunities for joining
DOKCO and how current and new members can contribute to its development.

3. Introduction to civic hacking using open government data – the
session will focus on how different talents might work together to
create innovative products and services from government open data.

You are all warmly welcome to bite a pizza and get caffeinated while
sharing our openness experiences.
