*Tanzania Coastal Sensitivity Atlas (TanSEA)*

This may be of interest to those involved in Coastal mapping projects.

From the map page it is possible to view and download Acrobat Pdf
versions of each of the 37 map sheets (A1 size) at 1:50,000 scale. Click
on the + sign (right hand side) to switch on/off Google layers and some
point/photo data.
Unfortunately the pdf files are a mixture of raster and vector data so
the quality varies as you zoom in. There is a contact page, so it may
be possible to request access to the GIS files, see quote below.
/"The research and output maps have been prepared by a team of experts
from the Institute of Marine Sciences (University of Dar es Salaam),
OBSCOM (Paris) and Samaki Consultants Ltd. (Dar es Salaam). The
long-term goals of the TanSEA project are to establish a comprehensive
and accurate coastal GIS data system for Tanzania, for oil spill
contingency planning and research. It may also be used for education,
as promotional material and for use by other institutions in Tanzania
that require detailed geo-referenced data on the coastal zone."/

Regards,
Mike
