    Morning Langen ,

    Interesting article

Have a look at this site

    http://www.worldometers.info/world-population

"It had taken all of human history until around 1800 for world population
to reach one billion -- the second billion was achieved in only 130 years
    ( 1930)"

In similar vein you should look out for a copy of Dan Browns new novel
    INFERNO

    http://www.danbrown.com/inferno

Not a very good book as he scrambles around very superficially in huge
swaths of history -- still the thrust of the book is topical.

The largest growth of population is in areas where the means to sustain
these increased numbers is under great stress.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Essay_on_the_Principle_of_Population

Will human fertility / fecundity drop off ?
    or
WIll humans continue to reproduce until they have turned Mother Earth
into a desert -- and thereby sealed their own fate ( Mars )

    Lost of interesting reading :--)))

PS: Langdon ( in the inferno [infernal] novel ) lifts an interesting
    quote
"The Hottest places in Hell are reserved for thos who maintain their
neutrality in times of great moral crisis"

Interesting -- one of the favourite quotes of J F Kennedy ( or was it
    actually created by him ?

The lesson of course is to never take anything at face value , but to
check it yourself -- a couple of times !
