[TZGISUG] RESEARCH QUESTIONNAIRE: A GEOSPATIAL FRAMEWORK FOR ADOPTION OF GEOSPATIAL GOVERNANCE IN THE CONTEXT OF E- GOVERNMENT IN TANZANIA

TO ALL TZGIS USER GROUP MEMBERS:

I am a postgraduate student undertaking PhD in Geomatics at Ardhi
University, in the School of Geospatial Sciences and Technology. I am
working on a research titled *“A Geospatial Framework for Adoption of
Geospatial Governance in the context of e-Government in Tanzania”*

 The main objective of this research is to develop a geospatial framework
for adoption of geospatial governance in the context of e-government in
Tanzania. Specifically, (1) to propose an institutional geospatial
framework for geospatial governance; and (2) to propose a mechanism
for a  spatially
enabled government via e-Government and come up with the structure for the
Tanzania National Spatial Data Infrastructure (TanSDI) or Tanzania
Geospatial One-Stop (TanGeo One-Stop).


*ABOUT THIS QUESTIONNAIRE*
This questionnaire is aimed at helping gather information on the status of
geospatial data collection, management, and sharing in Tanzania, and
explore how best geospatial data can be managed and shared. Information
obtained will help the researcher to formulate a framework and mechanism
for a spatially enabled government, but also develop an institutional
framework for geospatial governance in the context of e-Government in
Tanzania.

*Definitions*

1.  *Spatial Data Infrastructure* - are defined as the technology,
policies, standards, human resources, and related activities necessary to
acquire, process, distribute, use, maintain, and preserve geospatial data.

2. *Geospatial data* - is a collection of data that are individually or
collectively attached to geographic location.
