>E-news: the E-world and an update on our courses (Face-to-Face)
>Internet has the potential to make all sorts of information easily accessible. Our E-world on internet expands every day, opening new windows of opportunities. It allows us to provide you more and better services and to tailor our communication. In this E-news we shortly highlight a couple of them.
>
>Wageningen World now Electronically available.
>Wageningen University and Research Centre developed an interesting thematic magazine on current research and its applications. To allow easy access all over the world, Wageningen World is now also available on internet. Through this link you can access the latest edition. From now on we will inform you as soon as the next issue of this quarterly magazine is available.
>
>E-portals make course materials electronically available
>The past two years the Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR made quite an effort to digitalise all course materials so they are accessible for course participants through our portals. Participants can access the materials easily. In May we will also run a pilot, each participant will receive a tablet to access the learning materials electronically during the course. This will minimise the use of paper.
>
>CDI also on Facebook
>Please visit the CDI Facebook page. If you want to keep informed, you can follow us on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/CDIwageningenUR

>E-registration, keep updated on courses
>If you want to join one of our courses, please enrol online through our website. Of course many people want to be informed about courses, fellowships, deadlines and more. To make this information available to all interested, we created a special webform on our website which one can use to register. If you want to receive an update of our activities concerning our courses please register yourself here. If you have a colleague or friend who would also like to receive this information, ask them to register too, through the same link.
>

>Over the last decades, the formal seed system in most developing countries has shifted from a publicly dominated sector to a privately dominated sector. However, throughout the world, the largest quantities of seed are still produced by farmers themselves. Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) aims to better link informal and formal seed systems, and balance public and private sector involvement.

The vulnerability of agricultural systems towards pests, diseases and climate change makes the topic urgent, and has led to the development of a range of conservation strategies. Community Biodiversity Management (CBM) distinguishes itself from other conservation strategies by enhancing social interdependence, collaboration, adaptability and autonomy.

>Despite the world-wide increase of food availability, there are still around one billion people undernourished. This is far above of the target of MDG 1. There is now substantial evidence that malnutrition has life-long negative impacts on productivity and income-generating potential of the population. Agricultural programmes need to become more nutrition sensitive.
