The XP version running on ATMs is supported until 2016. Not the entire 
support for XP ended now on the 8.
For OEM clients the support ended. Other clients and versions of XP 
having a longer support.

Banks are slow moving dinosaurs. The last ATMs running OS/2 disappeared 
in 2006! When IBM really stopped any support for it.

If the networks are here set up in a secure way: Who knows.
In Germany it for a Bank a *must* to have for the ATMs and statement 
printers a physical and logical separate network and having no direct 
connection to any other network.
 From my time working as an electrician I remember the long requirement 
list for the network and power supply cabling of ATMs: It was a long 
list full with must and must not.
