Thanks Ismail for bringing this up! As IT practitioners it is in all our
interests
to strengthen our community and leverage it in different ways including
solving
local problems. I think having an open workspace with decent internet
connectivity where we can regularly meet will be great and is something we
should work towards. This will require looking for grants, corporate
sponsors etc.

Perhaps before we start putting that into motion we should work to
strengthen
our community a bit more. I definitely like the idea of frequent meet-ups,
maybe once a month to begin with. And I think for the meet-ups to be
successful
we should have a vision/theme for them. A possibility is having a key
presenter
for each meet-up who will share something that would be of interest and help
people learn something. I would be happy to present on the first one if
this is
something people might be interested in.

As Erik pointed out, meeting to discuss this further is the natural next
step.
And thanks to Habari and Erik for the refreshments.
