First mind:

Kino. Easy to use. Recording/Importing, cutting, effects and exporting.
Already since 2008 the German TV station ARD is using it to prepare the
videos for the online edition of their news show Tagesschau at tagesschau.de

kdenlive somewhere between kino and professional tools like cinelerra
but still easy to use. Also good for stop motion.
